Some home truths will be told at Blaze headquarters next week.
Head coach Joey Wright will be calling in each player for a debriefing.
Wright will outline what he liked and didn't like about each player's performance this season. He will also tell the player whether he is required for next season.
However the `honest' discussion will flow both ways.
Players will be invited to speak their mind about how Wright ran the team.
Could be a very interesting time, especially considering the rumours which have a number of the big names exiting -- some voluntarily, others being pushed.
TALKING of the Blaze and debriefings and recriminations, there was one factor of Tuesday night's loss to Perth where the Gold Coast were found wanting -- the crowd.
There was plenty of lead-up publicity given to the need for the Gold Coast to rally behind their NBL team.
And they deserved support.
Despite a horror injury run, which included the sidelining of ace import Ayinde Ubaka, the Blaze won through to the finals and were a genuine chance of going all the way.
What they needed on Tuesday night was a big, boisterous crowd that would bounce the Wildcats well and truly off their game.
What they got was a `good' crowd of 3600 -- about 1400 below capacity.
For a Tuesday night that's not bad. But for a must-win finals clash, it simply wasn't good enough.
